Jenny
is from Michigan where she grew up in the city but
always loved and cherished horses. At
the age of 8 she gladlyjumped at the chance to wave
Girl Scouts to take horse back riding lessons.
She began as a hunter jumper and showed at the 4-h shows and
the Armada Fair and she participated in a program that was
offered through the 4-h that taught kids how to properly
judge a horse on it’s conformation and movement.
Jenny
had the opportunity to study under several wonderful
instructors including Norma Agnew, who sadly lost her battle
to cancer in 2005. She
will never forget the impact that Norma made in her life.
As a judging team, Norma had taken her team to the
Michigan State Jamboree, (the biggest judging event in the
district) where we placed first over all the teams, and got
our pictures in the local paper.
While
showing 4-h Jenny participated in many disciplines from
western pleasure, jumpers, trail, showmanship and
halter classes. After
buying and showing her first horse, a paint
named Rusty, she was hooked.
Upon
entering high school she and her Mom were instramental in
starting a one woman equestrian team and also loved
riding Rusty in the homecoming parade. By the
time she graduated her team grew to be five members
strong, and they went to state finals twice for gymkhana in
4-h.
After
graduation Jenny trained with a John Lyons trainer.
In 2007 she went to Alabama to train with Jason Wilds.
After returning to Michigan with certification in hand she
decided to return to Alabama, but with her long time
boyfriend, now Fiancee in tow. You can check out
Jason's credentials at: www.WildsHorsemanship.com They
made a stop in Crossville to visit family and never made it
to Alabama.
The
deal was sealed when Jenny was able to buy the farm next to
Wintercrest. Now she lives next door with her husband
Matt who is an MP in the US Army and commutes from Ft.
Campbell KY, and his brother Nick who also works at
Wintercrest Farms.
Jenny
is our barn manager and also takes a limited
clientele for training. Contact
Jenny about your horse needs.
